Working From Home

Unfortunately, with the cost-of-living rise, the increase in energy prices and the aftermath of covid, the high street is being negatively impacted by all these factors.

Many high street salons have closed their doors with beauty therapists and hairdressers looking for alternative and cheaper ways to trade.

Working on a mobile basis or renting a space/chair within a salon are historically the most popular ways to trade within the industry however a cost-effective way of trading can be working from home. Without the costs of travel expenses or rental prices we are seeing more and more beauty therapists and hairdressers exploring this option.

Some have converted their spare room or garage into a treatment room, others have a purpose-built chalet/log cabin in their garden.

Did you know? Our self-employed individual insurance policies cover your public, product, and treatment liability if you are working on your own from your home as well as covering you to work on a mobile basis or if you’re renting a chair or space within somebody else’s salon.

You can also extend your policy to cover accidental damage and theft of your kit and equipment should you wish to.

If you are thinking about starting a business from home, please call us to discuss your insurance needs on 03456058670 where one of our friendly team will be happy to assist you or run through a quote.
