Mobile Beauty Insurance - What Cover Do I Need?

Congratulations on being your own boss! So, you’ve decided to go it alone and be a mobile beauty therapist.  From false lashes to facials, make up to microdermabrasion, brows to bikini waxing we’ve got you covered.  We do not ask to see your certificates prior to taking out a policy, we simply ask you to keep them in a safe place should you ever need to present them in the event of a claim.

We cover the most important aspects of insurance, so you and your clients have peace of mind that you’re a reputable therapist, and should the worst happen we can help with a claim.

  • Public Liability – A client has come to visit you at your home and they slip over injuring themselves, this would be covered under the public liability section.
  • Third Party Property Damage – You’re in a client’s home and you spill acetone on your client’s table or massage oil on their carpet, this would be covered under the third party property damage section.
  • Product Liability – You’re doing a facial, the treatment is going well, and no patch test was required in your training or on the manufacturer’s instructions. You sell the client some of the products you used during the facial but a week later the client calls you complaining of a swollen red face after using the product and says she is going to a no win no fee solicitor.  We would put you in touch with the claims department who would guide you through the next steps of a potential claim.
  • Treatment Liability - You’re waxing someone’s eyebrows, the client’s skin tears and they’re left with a graze.  She asks if you have insurance as she is worried about scarring.  This would be covered under your treatment liability section of the policy.

If you follow your training along with the policy conditions and the directions on the manufacturer’s instructions of the products you’re using, carrying out a patch test where required, and keep a client record card your claim should be covered and processed without any problems.

If you’re interested in boosting your policy and the protection available, you can purchase either £5,000 or £10,000 worth of kit and equipment cover for accidental damage and theft by forcible entry.  This can be arranged for an additional amount.

Going abroad?  With more people getting married abroad and requiring make up and hair, your policy will cover you to work within the EU occasionally.

Our mobile beauty insurance policies start at £52.50 (inclusive of Insurance Premium Tax and admin fee) for standard beauty treatment cover for an entire year! That’s just over £1.00 a week and our nail policies are even cheaper at £39.50 a year. Can you afford not to be covered?
