What is Dermaplaning?
The purpose of this treatment is to leave the skin looking more youthful and radiant as the specialised blade removes the ‘peach fuzz’ hair on the face as well as dead skin cells.

Our skin is constantly exposed to toxins, irritants and UV rays which may leave the skin looking quite dull. By removing the top layer of the skin, dermaplaning uncovers newer skin cells that can reveal a smoother and more glowing complexion.

Procedure
Dermaplaning is normally carried out as part of a facial treatment. The professional should firstly use a gentle cleanser to help loosen dead skin cells before going in with the blade. The face needs to dry completely before the procedure.

A sterilized 10-gauge scalpel should be held at a 45-degree angle to the skin during the treatment. The skin will be pulled tight, and the blade will be moved in short motions against the grain of the hair on the skin.

Once completed, a moisturiser should be applied to the skin and after care advice given.
