Has your policy with us changed?

As we are slowly starting to get used to the ‘new normal’, we know that as a professional therapist you may be worried about getting back to work and having to change the way you work. To reassure you, we wanted to let you know that our policies at Professional Beauty Direct have not been altered since we have come out of lockdown, our policy conditions remain the same.

 

To try and make sure you don’t have any accidents or incidents on returning to work, you may want to take into consideration what has happened over the past 18 months regarding Covid-19 and think about how this may affect the treatments you are performing.

 

Any treatment can go wrong for a number of reasons, but some treatments such as laser hair removal can cause serious burns. You may wish to take into consideration the sensitivity of your client’s skin or if your clients skin has changed recently due to lockdown or covid. Should this affect the way you carry out your clients next treatment? You should take the time to carry out a thorough consultation with your client, patch test and think about the treatment you are giving. Now that you can get back to work after such a long time, the last thing you need is a claim.

 

HOW COVID COULD HAVE AFFECTED YOUR CLIENT

- WITH STAY-AT-HOME ORDERS AND MANY HOLIDAYS CANCELLED- HAS NOT BEING IN THE SUN AFFECTED THEIR SKIN?

- YOU MAY NOT HAVE SEEN YOUR CLIENT FOR A LONG TIME- HAS THEIR MEDICAL CONDITIONS CHANGED OR HAS THEIR SKIN ALTERED THROUGH LACK OF REGULAR TREATMENTS?

- ARE THEY MORE SUSCEPTIBLE TO AN ALLERGIC REACTION DUE TO HAVING COVID OR THE VACCINATION?

Even if it’s not a specific manufacturers or insurance requirement, you may wish to patch test to be on the safe side, maybe treating the client as if they were a new customer and double checking everything you have on their record card again.
