5 Marketing tips for salons during the festive period

1. Client selfies with a festive twist
Change up your usual backdrop where you would normally take your finished client photos to a more festive feel. This doesn’t need to be expensive; some tinsel, ribbons, baubles and even moving your client near to the salon Christmas tree will make all the difference. This will change up from your usual posting style and get people in the Christmas spirit.

2. Boost your marketing
Christmas can be the busiest time of the year in salons with everyone desperate to get fresh hair ready for the festive period. Encourage your clients to post online reviews and pictures as word-of-mouth is one of the best ways to attract new clients.

3. A time for giving
Christmas is a great opportunity to thank your loyal clients. You could offer them a discount on their next treatment/discount on retail products/bring a friend discount. Placing these discounts within a simple thank you card will make your client will feel very appreciated and wanting to come back to you in the new year.

4. Christmas playlist
Boost the Christmas mood by incorporating some Christmas songs into your salon playlist. A constant Christmas playlist might be a little too much for yourself and your staff so adding some into your current playlist would be enough. Attention to detail with things like this will be welcomed by your customers.

5. Promote your Christmas opening hours
Advising your clients of your Christmas opening hours does not only make them aware but it is also promoting your salon. It may be a good idea to start posting these around October/November time to allow yourself and your clients to get organised. Encourage your clients to get booked in early to avoid disappointment!
