CHANGES TO YOUR PUBLIC PRODUCTS AND TREATMENT LIABILITY POLICY
Underwritten by Ascot Underwriting Ltd
Please keep this notice with your policy documents
For policies renewed on and after 1st September 2016 your Public Products and Treatment Liability policy is amended as follows:
We have taken the decision to move all Professional Beauty Direct and Professional Salons Direct insurance policies from Ageas Insurance Limited to Ascot Underwriting Limited. Ascot Underwriting Limited act for and on behalf of Syndicate 1414 at Lloyd’s [“Ascot Underwriting Ltd”]. Having the backing of a Lloyds of London Syndicate we believe offers the security and flexibility better suited to your policy and will allow us to react even quicker to the demands of the fast paced Beauty, Hair and Nail industry by offering you a policy that is regularly reviewed and adapted to meet your demands and needs.
As a result of this new relationship your policy now provides you with £6,000,000 of Public, Products and Treatment Liability.
If you had a Self-employed Individuals policy and were paying for the additional increase in cover from £3,000,000 to £5,000,000 you no longer have to do so therefore you will see a saving on your next renewal.
The Policy Wording attaching to your policy has been improved with clearer headings and explanations plus an effort has been made to reduce insurance jargon that has been used previously. The policy has also been brought in line with the new Insurance Act changes. Because of this, there are many sections that have been modified and in particular the Treatment section of the wording now includes important clarification on topics such as Age Restrictions, Qualifications and Patch Testing. It is therefore vital that you read this new Policy Wording in its entirety paying particular attention to the Treatments section.
Our Salon policies now have a lower starting point in respect of Contents cover. This is now £5,000 rather than £10,000. This is so we can offer a lower entry level to our Salon Policies meaning individuals who want to take on their first additional staff members, don’t have to take such a jump in Contents and therefore price in order to benefit from the appropriate cover offered by the Salon Policy. We hope this shows our continued commitment to helping individuals take the next step into Salon ownership.
Our Claims and Complaints procedures details have changed therefore again please read carefully your accompanying policy documents.
We have also taken the opportunity to improve and enhance our websites giving further explanations and definitions to help customers through the purchasing process. In particular we have clarified the point of the Self-employed Individuals policies not being suitable for Salon owners.
Should you have any questions regarding your policy, your policy documents or any of the above, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
